Mirror glass is used in one of our stained glass jewelry lines and has amazing color and dazzle. The mirrored backing bounces light back through the glass beautifully and the colors are rich, achieving an effect like sunlight rippling through the color. This handcrafted red and purple Van Gogh stained glass is beautifully complimented by antiqued copper steel filigree. The earrings pictured are made with surgical steel posts. Other options are surgical steel hooks with copper ball and coil or copper leverbacks. Size is approximately 3/4 of an inch. Van Gogh stained glass is an opaque specialty stained glass known for its rich, intense colors and amazing texture and patterns. Van Gogh stained glass starts as a clear piece of glass. A layer of thick, specialized glue is applied to the surface, and as the glue dries, it pulls up the surface of the glass, physically etching the glass and resulting in the beautiful frosty, feathery patterns you see in the glass. The amazing color comes from automobile paint. We hand cut and grind the glass, then create the finished piece using our own specialized process. Because the patterns vary so much from piece to piece, your Van Gogh accessories may be considered one of a kind. While the patterns inside the glass will vary, the basic colors or combination of colors will be as pictured.
